Please note Conventional copper tubing (from plumbing supply companies, retail outlets like Home Depot, Lowes) are not pre-cleaned.  Unlike chromatography grade tubing they almost always contain oils and residue which will wreak havoc in the GC system (ex. destroy the chromatography column, produce ‘ghost’ peaks that undermine the analysis).  Classic case of the need to avoid being ‘penny wise but pound foolish’.
